ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: to identify the content and characteristics of the videos broadcast on YouTube which deal with the use of the Iramuteq software as a qualitative research aid tool and to discuss the contribution of this social network to the dissemination of knowledge, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

METHOD: this is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out with YouTube videos, collected in June 2021 and subjected to a thematic analysis.

RESULTS: A total of 43 videos on the searched topic were identified, the majority (69.76%) having been published from 2020-2021. As for content, five categories have been identified.

CONCLUSION: the videos explain the installation of Iramuteq, the preparation of the textual corpus, the errors noted by the users and the methods to correct them, the lexical analysis developed by the program and how to use it. The content is presented in a theoretical and practical way through the presentation of the software interface. Thus, the contribution of YouTube to the development of teaching and the dissemination of knowledge is noted, both because it constitutes itself as a source of research and because it promotes dialogue between researchers, particularly in a pandemic context. .
