PSHS teacher creates 60 YouTube math videos to make distance learning easier

Math teacher Leo Andrei Crisologo, Philippine Science High School (PSHS) – Main Campus in Diliman, Quezon City, took his knowledge and passion for math beyond the classroom by creating 60 videos YouTube on Grade 9 topics, with 12 hours of content from Q1 to Q4 of the 2020-2021 school year.

“Crisologo’s educational videos aim to enrich the content of the learning guides provided by the PSHS system in support of the institutional distance learning modality,” Scientific Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña said in a recent DOST report.

Thanks to video, students don’t have to attend synchronous classes; and videos provide an alternative or supplement to textbooks and learning guides.

At the same time, students who prefer to learn visually or by having a teacher explain the lesson reported that the videos helped them a lot, de la Peña said.

The YouTube channel story was first posted by associate professor and data science expert Erika Fille T. Legara on her Facebook page, de la Peña added on her Facebook.
