Hidden Nintendo Smash Ultimate YouTube Videos Reveal Possible Double E3 Fighter Reveal

Eagle-eyed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans have discovered a few secret videos in a Masahiro Sakurai playlist on YouTube that may suggest a double fighter reveal at E3.

Announcements for Smash Ultimate are normally made at major Nintendo events, and the Direct scheduled for E3 is no exception.

Nintendo has made good use of its presence at E3 in the past to announce not only Smash Ultimate and its incredible cast featuring all of the previous fighters in franchise history, but also its DLC.

In 2019, Nintendo shocked the world by announcing not only Banjo & Kazooie, but Hero from Dragon Quest as well.

There are only two DLC spots left in Fighters Pass Volume 2.

Double E3 Smash Revelation Leaked?

Now, on the eve of Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct, fans have spotted potential evidence of yet another double reveal.

In an official Nintendo playlist titled “Masahiro Sakurai”, there are two unavailable videos listed as “hidden”, suggesting that both videos are for the fighters’ reveal.

“I’m assuming Smash ends with its last 2 DLC characters tomorrow at E3,” one user wrote on Twitter with a screenshot of the playlist.

Strangely enough, the last video uploaded to the playlist is “Mr Sakurai Presents Hero”, which dates from July 2019. It also includes videos for Smash 4 on Wii U and 3DS.

It’s unclear exactly when the playlist was updated to include the two currently hidden videos, so this could all be unfortunate timing, but a double reveal seems possible given Nintendo’s history at E3. .

Sakurai was keen to reiterate specifically that there are only two DLC spots left with Fighters Pass Volume 2 and while waiting for a potential final bonus character, there is little reason to doubt him.

Doomslayer kills Bowser

Fans believe Doomslayer will be revealed at E3.

Who are the last two fighters in Smash Ultimate?

If Nintendo opts for the double reveal, it’s also possible that we’ll be watching a Western character alongside a character from the East, just like they did in 2019 with Banjo and Hero.

Fan speculation favorites so far include Crash Bandicoot, Master Chief, Doomslayer, and Ryu Hayabusa.

As always, take all of these rumors and possible leaks with a grain of salt. We’ll know for sure once Nintendo’s E3 Direct kicks off on Tuesday, June 15 and at 9:00 a.m. PST.
